The location of houses on the map arbitrarily (it seems) changes the number of people that can live in them. Though it is both expensive and rewarding on paper to build the church, (a happiness boost), nobody ever goes there. The poor priest just stands there all by himself generating happiness so that people will move to the castle so they can go to the nice church with the lonely priest - and then they forget about him. Another stupid/annoying aspect of the game is that there is no way to upgrade your keep. You could build Windsor Castle and the keep would still be this depressing thatched hut sitting there in the middle of stone ramparts.

Pathfinding is atrocious. In the first chapter of the economic campaign, a bear comes along. I sent my lord after him and he followed him around as if he were following a treasure map or something while the bear was 20 feet away mauling my apple farmers to death. Maybe he has cataracts or something, though he looks to be pretty young. It was positively comical.
I'll play it so that I can vindicate it in the reviews.' Sadly, it is that bad. This is AWFUL. It's an insult to the franchise. Sure, it looks pretty, but that's about the extent of its virtue. There is no single player skirmish or multiplayer mode, so replayability after the (pretty boring) campaign (I could only stand the first three chapters) is presumably nonexistant. There are a measly four, FOUR free-build maps - no random maps, no map editor, nothing.

Don’t waste your money on this terrible terrible game or this terrible terrible company. Laelap5 Disappointing I used to play Stronghold Crusaider when I was younger, that game was awesome. Saw this and figured it would be the same or better since it was made after Crusaider.
Firefly Studios doesn’t even have the game on their website anymore. Can’t find 7Sixty. And MissingLink Games are, well, missing. Don’t waste your money on this terrible terrible game or this terrible terrible company.
