Sorry I missed this when you posted! In trying to reproduce the problem, I think I've narrowed it down! It's all about the Finder. Here's a recipe: 1. Make a map and save it as component files.

Click to expand.This. SC2 was fantastic at launch. Solid 60+ FPS on my ATI 5870, 2560x1400 at ultra/extreme settings. Ever since the release of version 2.0 (which coincided with the release of HoTS), performance has been absolute crap. I'm lucky to get 30 FPS, and there's a 50/50% chance the game bogs down to less then 1 FPS making it unplayable. I'm not sure if this is a bug in the ATI drivers or what, but performance with the ATI cards is absolutely abysmal.
Everyone should have a bank editor this easy to use. And now everyone can. Ever reached a high level or finally beat that final boss and earned that ultimate achievement only to lose it to data corruption, a broken computer or programming bugs? No need to worry about that anymore. StarBanker will help you get back on your feet, it's easy to use and even works with signed bank files. Works with all bank files.

The campaign stories aren't as good (I would argue) but the multiplayer is a lot of fun and still going strong with the latest expansion that came out a year and a half ago. The 1v1 ladder is the most competitive it's probably ever been, but it'd be nice to have new blood in the lower leagues. If all you want is the original SC campaigns, you should play StarCraft Mass Recall.

The new editor also changes the way maps are distributed: rather than hosting games using local map files, users now create and join games using maps that have been published to Battle.net. Map or mod uploads are limited to a total of 50 of storage, divided between ten files at most, with no file being larger than 10 MB. Although the StarCraft II Editor offers more features than the original StarCraft Editor in terms of game customization, there are concerns that the publishing limitations of Battle.net will not allow for large-scale custom maps or extensive map availability unless there is an external map publishing tool.
