They are likely beta and no point in pre-installing them on your mac pro as the ones that come on the 5870 dvd (or via software update or whatever) will very likely be much newer and better.
My system is used primarily in a professional recording environment (with occasional Final Cut Pro X requirements), and I have a Slate Raven (Multitouch panel) with an Apogee audio interface that are must work items. Has been the ship date on the Apple store for sumthin' like 2 months at this point. Why it's not available, well, who knows, there are 101 theories, but as of right now, no card. You can, however, flash a Windoze card, and get it to work with OS/X. This is naturally not supported, but there's an entire sub-culture dedicated to this very topic.

Can't imagine what that would be, but it sure doesn't sound good. Where did this card come from? Is it a Mac version of the 5870, or a modified PC card? Not sure what is wrong with my computer, and am tired of installing fresh OS like i used to do with windows. That you certainly shouldn't have to do. In all the years I've owned Macs, I've only ever installed the OS for system issues twice. Otherwise, I never have to think about it.
